An inspirational talk about how to achieve the perfect balance and create ambience by layering light from a range of sources to suit a specific occasion, activity or mood.

The panel will discuss ways of lighting various areas of the home including: - creating a sense of arrival in an entrance hall; lighting your living room with advice on the best combination of dimmer switches, 5Amp circuits, power points; setting the mood for a formal/informal dinner party; lighting for a drinks party; selecting the most flattering lighting for bathrooms & dressing rooms; outdoor lighting. The panel of experts will also talk about current trends in lighting as well sharing their top tips and some useful tricks of the trade.

Having started her career in film-making, Cassie joined Jim Lawrence seven years ago and brought a passion for good lighting with her. Through many renovations of period homes over the last 20 years, she also brings a highly practical approach to lighting solutions in older properties. 

As Creative Director she has worked hard to grow this nationally loved lighting company into a household name in period home lighting. From castles in Scotland to cottages in Devon, Jim Lawrence Lighting has a stunning range of elegant, decorative lighting and home furnishings for any project. Cassie is about to start renovating a beautiful, rather dilapidated townhouse in Bath, and is looking forward to being able to showcase Jim Lawrence lighting designs in this exciting new space.’

After gaining a BA Hons Degree from Trinity College Dublin and a BTEC Diploma from Chelsea College of Art & Design, Henry Prideaux started a career in Interior Design. Following an introduction, in his early twenties, to interior decorator, Jonathan Hudson Henry went on to work within some of the industry's most recognised interior design practices including Nicky Haslam’s NH Design and Harrods Interiors. These foundations have given him a great knowledge of different interior styles, an understanding of space and proportion together with a sense of good taste.

After A design degree at Central Saint Martins focusing on lighting, Hugo joined John Cullen Lighting in 2000 and transferred his creative flare from product to architectural lighting. In 2005 Hugo moved to Light Bureau to develop their super prime residential and hospitality sector and also to gain a greater understanding of commercial lighting including the more technical aspects of the profession. After three years at Light Bureau Hugo set up Chiaroscuro Lighting Design which was re named in  2013 to HUGO LIGHT DESIGN Ltd focusing on Residential, Exterior landscaping, facades and Hospitality lighting to mention a few which has grown year on year.

As Design Director he has grown the company through the use of time saving technology, keeping the company lean and competitively priced. Working with designers, Architects, Interior architects and Landscape architects achieving well considered lighting solutions from a different perspective to many lighting design companies. From Penthouses and Villas in the Bahamas and the Spice Isles to barn conversions in the Cotswolds and Spa Hotels and country clubs such as Beaverbrook in Leatherhead, The range of projects is broad from Modern contemporary to Stately Home. Hugo and his team provide a very personal service tailored to the clients needs and taste.
