A rare Meissen bowl adorned by two kingfishers, modelled by Max Esser from a series of 75 models known as Reynard the Fox (Reineke Fuchs). The series was created by Max Esser between 1920 and 1928. Decorated with a highly stylised use of orange, black and gold, typical of the Meissen Art Deco period. Underglaze blue crossed swords with high dot. Incised monogram denoting that this is one of the 75 models from the Reynard the Fox series, circa 1925.
