'Leicester Square - London'
33 x 41 cm, signed.
Evelyn Abelson R.B.A. 1886-1967
Evelyn Abelson was born in London. She studied at Camden Hill School and then at Heatherley's School of Fine Art. She was a regular exhibitor at Royal Academy, New English Arts Club and the Royal Society of British Artists of which she was an elected member. Unusually - she painted many views of London, and captured the essence of the times with topographical details married with the 'en passant' of daily life. These are widely collected and a major work 'Trafalgar Square' is now in the Government Art Collection
