Dinan & Chighine

John Dinan and Graziella Chighine began working together in 1988 and have over the years established a reputation for high-quality decorative and collector pieces which have been acquired by clients from  all over the world. Based in London, we work closely with leading interior designers in the UK and USA and are constanty sourcing rare, beautiful and unusual works of art from the seventeenth century to the present day. Through our distinctive framing, which includes many exclusive designs, we are able to present these works of art in ways which are suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Since starting out over thirty years ago we have built up a large inventory of curated artwork encompassing many different periods, styles and subjects. Our collection of antique botanical prints includes a fine selection of seventeenth and eighteenth century engravings from the golden age of botanical illustration, including works by Basilius Besler, Crispin de Passe, Caspar Commelin, Johannes Weinmann, Maria Merian and Johannes Volckamer.  We also have a range of eighteenth and nineteenth century natural history prints, amongst which are the exquisite ornithological illustrations of John Gould and George Edwards. Landscapes and equestrian subjects are also well represented, as are architectural and neo-classical designs. Chinese pith-paper export paintings are a particular speciality.

In recent years we have added twentieth century modern master prints to our inventory, including works by Matisse, Chagall, Miro, Dufy, Picasso, Sonia Delaunay and Le Corbusier. We also represent a  number of contemporary artists.

To complement our artwork, we carry a stock of antique and twentieth century furniture and accessories.

All of these items have proved to be wonderful sources of inspiration for interior designers and individuals decorating a home or a public space and we are delighted to have had many happy clients.

We like to offer a personal service and many of our clients have met us at art and antiques shows, where we have the opportunity to discuss their requirements in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. A full schedule of the shows at which we will be exhibiting during the coming year, both in London and the USA, can be found in the News and Events section of this website.

We are members of the Antiques Council of America and the trade associations LAPADA and CINOA, all of which have strict codes of conduct, ensuring that you can buy from us with confidence. Each purchase is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
