Superb quality pair of heavy cast George II silver rococo candlesticks London 1743 WS
This superb quality pair of cast George II silver Rococo candlesticks were made in London in 1743 by WS and measure 10.5 inches tall and are 6 inches at their widest dia across the base. They are beautifully decorated with flowers and foliage, sea shells, scrolls, graduated drop detailing and acanthus leaves with matching sconces that are also marked with the lion passant. They are a heavy pair of sticks weighing 54.6 ounces or 1698 grams and are still very crisp in their decoration, a sight to grace any room.
