This lovely silver mounted portrait miniature of a young male we believe to date C1700 and is probably painted on copper. The portrait measures 3 inches long by 2 7/16 inches wide, it has a convex glass front (making it difficult to photograph) and the silver reverse is also convex with the frame having a ribbon design either side of the loop at the top. The young man is dressed in a leather studded jacket/coat with a white cravat around his neck and has long reddish brown curled hair, both frame and painting are in very good condition.
