Arne Jacobsen: Series 7 'Butterfly' Chair, Model 3107, Denmark 1955 Code: 10211
Arne Jacobsen 1902 -1971
We are pleased to offer a rare set of six 'Series 7 Butterfly' (model 3107) chairs in the most sought after of finishes: beautifully patinated rosewood. These are original chairs from the 1950s, with the metal plates to the underside of each chair (as opposed to the later plastic caps from the 1960s).
With their sweeping curves and beautifully figured veneer, this set of chairs could grace a modern or period dining room. They have a sculptural presence that would complement any interior.
Designer: Arne Jacobsen
Producer: Fritz Hansen, Denmark, 1955. Stamped "FH Danmark" on the metal on the metal plates to the bottom of each chair.
Materials: Rosewood and chrome.
Edition: Original 1955 edition of this iconic chair in the most sought after of all finishes: rosewood.
Condition: Original condition, very light re-polishing. These chairs retain a deep rich colour and great patina. Minor wear commensurate with age. Some small dents to the seats and light scratching (photos available) but otherwise in very good condition.
A superb and very rare set of the original 'Series 7' chairs in rosewood.
