Berlin Walls Gallery
Stand number: 30
'Works on Paper from Berlin' was awarded showcase gallery status with us in 2018, and the gallery returns with a unique and impressive selection of modern, collectable and expressive late 20th century artworks and prints - again all on paper. Curator and gallerist Simon Hearnden had a foothold in Berlin for a decade and became fascinated by the confidence, boldness and sense of experimentation that can be achieved by working on paper, especially the unpredictability of the mono printing process.
The enigmatic Walter Lindner (1936-2007) worked obsessively, producing monotypes (embellished, mixed media mono prints) for forty years, becoming a master of his oeuvre. Simon's bold purchase of the artist's estate is creating renewed interest in the artist’s unique and decorative works.
Buoyed by the reactions to his bold move to purchase Lindner’s estate, Simon introduces other artists of promise, or renown from Berlin alongside Lindner. Notable this year are works by Alexander Camaro, Daniel Richter, Elvira Bach and Volker Witte.
