Following six years working on a global commodities trading floor, Vanessa Curry decided to adapt her expertise to another market – the market for Fine Art. Subsequent to leaving the City, Vanessa completed post-graduate studies in art history at Oxford University and worked with two international specialists on a number of high-profile visual art sourcing projects. In 2009 she formed the company Fine Art Source. The goal of the company is to provide new and established art collectors with direction in their collections, without any sales focus. Fine Art Source is not allied to any one gallery or auction house and is able to offer impartial advice. Most recently, Vanessa Curry has been made advisor to the Denise Coates Foundation where she acted as a private/public funding liaison with Tate Britain to create the Barbara Hepworth solo exhibition ‘Sculpture for a Modern World’, she has established high profile UK based collections consisting of museum quality paintings within home settings and recently talked at Design Week 2016 at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, London, on ‘How to create the perfect drawing room’.
